QAH Radio to broadcast live around the world
Portsmouth FC V Bristol City, to be played at Fratton Park on Saturday 29th July 2023 will have the AD Commentary for blind and partially sighted supporters broadcast worldwide by Queen Alexandra Hospital Radio. Recent data shows that during March this year people listened to QAH Radio in 15 different countries from the USA to Iran.
CEO Andrew Cullen said “Portsmouth FC and Bristol City FC are pleased to agree to the broadcast as part of Portsmouth Football Clubs 125th Anniversary”. There will be no other broadcast of this match.
Portsmouth Hospital Broadcasting was the first hospital radio station to broadcast football commentary in the 1950’s to the six hospitals then in the Portsmouth & Gosport region. It therefore marks an opportunity to commemorate over 75 years of this unique broadcasting event that for a number of years was the only broadcast on hospital radio.
